May - 2008 Meeting Minutes:

Officer Reports:

Membership:

  • We currently have 193 chapter members including four (4) new members, which joined during the May meeting.  The new members are:  Chuck Stennett, Ernie Champion, Doug Boyer and Rodney Thomas.  Welcome to the club and we are looking forward to a great riding season with all members.
  • If your membership is expired, you can renew at the meetings or see anyone at the DuBois Harley-Davidson parts counter.
  • As a reminder, you MUST be a national member of H.O.G. to belong to the local H.O.G.

Treasury:

  • Treasury reports are available at the meetings or by contacting Carol Mortland directly.

Safety:

  • There was no safety presentation at the May meeting.

General Discussion

Web Site:

  • To access chapter newsletters, activities and photos, please go to the DuBois Harley Davidson home page (http://www.duboisharleydavidson.com/) and click on the Tri-County H.O.G. link.
  • At the request on the National H.O.G., we have developed a more secure web site for our meeting minutes and Newsletters.  Starting with the May edition, the Newsletter will be broken down into two sections.  The first section will be our meeting minutes and any other Chapter only information.  The second section will be open to the public and contain all of our Chapter sponsored rides and events.
  • We will have one Log in I.D and one password to be used by all members.  If you weren’t at the May meeting, please see one of the Chapter officers for the log in and password information.

Traveling Meetings:

  • We discussed the possibility of having a traveling meeting sometime later this year, possibly in August.  The intent would be to have a ride (destination not determined yet), have our meeting and then have dinner.  Several members were in favor of this, so we will discuss it further at the June meeting.

Alcohol Policy:

  • National H.O.G. has taken a “Zero Tolerance” stance against alcohol at any chapter sponsored events.  This has become a very serious issue over the past few years and could jeopardize our insurance coverage if something were to happen at a chapter event with alcohol.
  • During the Trustees meeting this was discussed at great length and we have decided to adopt the Zero Tolerance policy as well.  Starting immediately the Tri-County H.O.G Chapter will no longer pay for any alcohol at any Chapter sponsored events.  If members want to bring their own alcoholic beverages they are free to do so.

Dice Run for MDA (July 13th, 2008):

  • Plans for the 2008 dice run are well under way.  We are still looking for volunteers to help with the various activities through out the day such as:
    • Registration,
    • Food prep and service,
    • Prizes,
    • Operating the stops along the route, and
    • Set up and tear down.
  • If you are available, please sign up at the next chapter meeting.  The more help we get the better this will be for all involved
  • The flyers for this year’s event will be available Monday 5/5/2008 at the Harley Shop.
  • We also have prize donation request forms and tax receipts available for anyone who wishes to donate.
  • We still have around 2000 tickets to sell for the bike and trailer raffle with only 10 weeks remaining.  Your help in selling tickets would be greatly appreciated. The trailer is at the shop and raffle tickets can be picked up at the Parts Counter.
  • Seller of the winning ticket will get $100.00
  • Top seller wins $200.00, second place wins $150.00 and third place wins $100.00
  • We have just confirmed that Matt Willoughby of Willoughby Design will be here again for this years event to perform custom pin striping and other graphic designs on motorcycles.  He will be at the DuBois Harley shop on Friday 7/11 thru Sunday 7/13/2008.  A sign up sheet will be available at the parts counter if you are interested in having some custom paint work done.

Chapter Merchandise:

  • There is a lot of chapter merchandise available for purchase.  If you are interested please stop by and see Cindy Coudriet at one of the meetings.

The 50/50 ($60.00) was won by Bret Mortimer.  The $50 DuBois H-D Gift Certificate was won by Jim Zmitravich.
